Volkswagen needed stills and film showing the new ID. Polo and ID. Cross where they belong: on Norwegian roads.
Most of the job happens in the field. But a good Sjut starts before we hit the road. We built the travel plan with several alternatives, letting the weather decide where we were when the light was best, and kept route and accommodation open from day to day. From architecture and concrete to mountain roads, fjords and fields of grain: every scene was planned, but none was locked.
Thanks to Josefine and Dan Ruben at VW for the trust and the assignment!
The hunt for the shot.
The brief and the needs were clear; the road to delivery was ours. With maps, weather forecasts and two EVs, we searched for the places where the ID. Polo and ID. Cross could show themselves at their best. A mountain pass under heavy clouds, a winding road through Norwegian nature, a flock of sheep taking their time crossing the tarmac. Some shots were planned in advance. Others appeared around the next bend. That's where creativity lives: staying within the brief while keeping an eye open for what no one could have ordered.
The people who make it all come together.
We build the crew around the job – not the other way around. This time it was four days on the road, and everyone in the crew had more than one role. On other jobs, it's just one of us. The right size for the assignment and the delivery.
Thanks for the morning workouts, the driving, the car washing, the technical production support and a really great team.
Here's some BTS.
